While arguing his case in court, Dr Narendra Amin poured out all his frustration as he complained about his basic rights being taken away in the name of security. He further alleged that the jail officials were bent on eliminating him for the benefit of the other accused. However, on the other side, sources and jail inmates said that he has cooked up the story just to get himself transferred from Sabarmati Jail.

Amin in his filed application had also mentioned that he is suffering from hypertension and diabetes and he feared that he would be killed in the manner that Sohrabuddin was done away with.

"The recent disclosure by an accused about the contract given by jail authorities to get Amin eliminated are alarming. Moreover, there have also been attempts made by the people to eliminate me in a 'natural' way," alleged Amin.

Amin has further alleged that for security's sake, the authorities have asked him to close the door and windows of his cell. "After the news of my elimination contract, I am so afraid that I have now started locking the door of my barrack with my luggage chain lock as I now don't have any faith in the jail officials. They have purposely placed the focus light on my barrack so that a person who wants to eliminate me can easily spot my movements and target me," he argued.

However, the jail authorities have denied all the allegations and clarified that the security arrangements made by them for Amin are good.

After hearing both sides, the special CBI magistrate court reserved the case for orders on September 1.
