According to assistant police commissioner, Social Service Branch, Vasant Dhoble, specific information was received that an illegal cockfight is being organised behind SK Resort in Borivli (W) and a raid was conducted.

The Mumbai police Special Squad, on Sunday, arrested 26 people, including bar managers and owners, for allegedly organising a cockfight, which is illegal and has been banned by the government. On the dry day, several people were found enjoying the cock-fight with ample liquor being served. The police seized 28 cocks, of which around seven were found dead.
According to assistant police commissioner, Social Service Branch, Vasant Dhoble, specific information was received that an illegal cockfight is being organised behind SK Resort in Borivli (W) and a raid was conducted. “Over 150 people were found watching this fight and when the raid was conducted some managed to escape. The arrested were mainly managers and owners of bars in the suburbs. Liquor was also being served, inspite of it being a dry day,” he said.
