Ahmedabad police apprehended five men — who had firearms in their possession —in Ambawadi area of Kheda district late on Thursday night.
The men were stopped and searched by the police when they were on the way to Surat from Ahmedabad. Since they were carrying guns, the police took them into custody.
Though the police are not saying it, reliable sources claim that the men could be members of the notorious Chhota Shakeel gang of Mumbai.However, Vijay Jadeja of the local crime branch said that the men were only robbers.
