Multi-crore fraud charges against former bureaucrats

Two police complaints of fraud have been lodged against more than 40 people accused for involvement in financial fraud with Sardar Sugar factory located at Ladhod and Vadodara amounting to Rs19 crore. 

The police has lodged complaints against ex chairman and vice chairman along with the employees and initiated further investigations in this regard. The two complaints have been lodged at Bodeli and Karjan police station against the accused. The accused involves a leading BJP leader of the co operative sector.

According to the information from the Bodeli police officials of Vadodara district police department, various malpractices related to financial transactions were revealed during the audit of the accounts from year 2005-06 and 2007-08. The financial fraud of about Rs8,41,84,638 was revealed during the audit. On the basis of the audit, various frauds involving paying more interest, contract payments, selling of more sugar against the government quota were revealed.

The Sardar Sugar, which is run under co operative model is in a bad position. An official complaint was lodged at the Bodeli police station against thirty people including BJP leader and chairman Jaykant Patel,  vice chairman Devendra Thakor, committee member
Praveen Patel and various members of the society along with employees which including chief accountant Sanjay Joshi, , MD Kanubhai Patel, CEO Partamp Joshi.
