After the failure of security personnel to detect crude bombs placed by police at 10 Acres Mall, the city police are now all set to make the mall owners and managers aware about possible terrorist attacks and planting of bombs, especially in the western part of the city. For this the police will also screen a film on terrorism produced by the city police, at different city malls.

In order to strictly implement the circular of the commissioner of police, the city police will start a dialogue between the mall owners and managers and at the same time will also keep doing the security audits at different malls. The Kagdapith police conducted a security audit of 10 Acres Mall in Maninagar area on Monday.

The police will commence the awareness campaign at the 10 Acres Mall. Talking to DNA, the police inspector, Kagdapith police station, AS Pandya said that the film on terrorism will be screened in the open space of the mall. "We want people to take the matter seriously. The film will educate the common man as well as showroom and shop owners," said Pandya.

"We will explore the possibility of having a similar security drill at different malls of the city," commissioner of police, Sudhir Sinha told DNA.

The police will did a security counselling with the officials of the 10 Acres malls and also have warned them to ensure proper security measures at the mall.

"The screening of the 90-second movie comes as part of the police's efforts to make people more vigilant and aware about a possible terror threat," Pandya said. The movie, made by Gujarat police, showcases what a terrorist/extremist could look like, what they do, their modus operandi and other important information as well as their style of functioning.

According to Pandya, people will become more vigilant after they watch the movie. "It will be screened on Sunday, so that a large number of people can watch it," said Pandya.

Earlier, Sinha had called for the film to be shown in multiplexes, theatres, video theatres, by cable operators and even on TV channels. "The film will make people aware about the threat of terrorism and also tell them what to do during a terror attack," Sinha said.

The cops deposited four crude bombs at various places in and around the complex of 10 Acres Mall and, surprisingly, none of the mock bomb planters were caught on the CCTV cameras or were spotted by any security officials.
