Monkey startles Ahmedabad bus driver, causes fatal accident

A monkey suddenly appeared in front of a school bus on Tuesday afternoon and startled the driver who lost control of his vehicle and rammed into a Mahindra Bolero jeep at Sardar Patel Ring Road on Tuesday evening.

One person in the jeep was killed in the unfortunate accident while two others sustained minor injuries.

Fortunately, the bus was on its way to pick up school kids and was empty when the incident occurred. Sarkhej police have registered a complaint in the case.

According to the police, the bus belonged to Eklavya School. The mishap took place when a monkey came in front of the bus all of a sudden, causing the driver to lose control and ram into the Bolero.

The impact sent the jeep rolling quite a distance.

The jeep driver, Muluibhai Chauhan, 32, died while being taken to the hospital. He was a resident of Devarthalgam, Bavada.
The owner of the jeep Kasa Patel and his 18 year-old daughter Aruna Patel, received minor injuries, while the driver of the bus was unhurt.

According to a police official, “The main reason for the accident was the monkey which popped up all of a sudden, causing the bus driver to lose control.” The driver of the school bus is absconding.
