A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale shook parts of northeast today.
The epicentre of the quake was located on the Myanmar-India border and occurred at 14.32 ISD, sources at the Central Seismological Observatory here said.
The quake was felt at many places in the North-East including Guwahati, Shillong, Imphal, Itanagar and northern Bengal.
There was no report of any damage of life and property, sources said.
