Hitting back at AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa for her tirade against him, Union minister MK Alagiri today accused her of lacking "political decency."

"If someone has to come to power, they should tell what they will do for the people. Instead, she says she will drive someone (himself) out (for this purpose). Is this political decency," Alagiri, also the son of chief minister M Karunanidhi, told reporters at the airport in Chennai.

At a mammoth rally yesterday in Madurai, considered as Alagiri's bastion, Jayalalithaa had made a bitter attack on him accusing of running a parallel government in the state, with Madurai as its centre.

Alagiri said Jayalaithaa had only spoken what was given to her and written by somebody else and she should have enquired before making allegations.

Jayalalithaa's Madurai rally was in focus as AIADMK had claimed that there were repeated threats to her life if she went ahead with her programme.
