Minor girl raped, neighbour held

Ahmedabad: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour on Thursday at Kalyan Dham society, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Madhavpura police station. The Madhavpura police have arrested a youth, Chirag alias Lalo (22) in the case.
According to Madhavpura police, the victim, a resident of Kalyan Dham society near Shahpur Darwaza, was alone at her house when the incident happened. Her father, a labourer, had gone out for some work.

Sources said that the girl lives with her father as her mother had left them few years back. The arrested youth lives with his widowed mother, who works as a maid.
On Thursday, the accused asked the girl to come to his house for breakfast.
DD Damor, police inspector, Madhavpura police station said Chirag's mother was not at home at that time.

"The moment the victim entered the house, Chirag closed the door and forced her to the floor where he raped her," said Damor. It was in the evening that the girl narrated the incident to her aunt.Later, the girl along with her family members and relatives lodged a complaint at Madhavpura police station. The Madhavpura police on Thursday night conducted a raid at Chirag's house and arrested him. Meanwhile, the girl has been sent to civil hospital for medical test.There were also allegations that the youth was having an affair with the girl.
