BJP today said Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati's absence from the CM's meet convened by the prime minister on price rise has led to the neglect of the state.
Through a question of propriety in the assembly, Hukum Singh (BJP) raised the matter of her absence from the meeting and said "merely writing letters cannot suffice participation in a dialogue".
"In the democratic set up, these meetings reduce problems," Singh said adding absence of the chief minister from such meetings was harmful to the interests of the state and its people.
Mayawati had skipped the meet and deputed Parliamentary affairs minister, Lalji Verma, for the conference. Verma said he had put forth her views on the matter.
The BJP leader also alleged that the CM's participation in house proceedings was not satisfactory.
Contradicting the charge Verma said Mayawati had also been attending the house proceedings.
