The CBI has told the Supreme court that communication minister during the UPA-I rule Dayanidhi Maran wasn't found to have coerced in finalising the sale of Aircel to Malaysia-based Maxis group. However, the agency said, others such as late Pramod Mahajan and Arun Shourie and former finance minister Jaswant Singh were suspected to have defied the telecom policy. Thus, it could question them.

According to a senior CBI official, Jaswant Singh will be questioned by second week of September, as the CBI is scheduled to complete its probe by September 30 on the issue of registering a formal case in irregularities during 2001-2007. Meanwhile the Enforcement Directorate said it has found Rs10,000 crore FEMA violations.
