The Haryana unit of the CPI(M) today alleged that Maruti Suzuki management has backed out from a tripartite agreement and was resorting to criminal acts by deploying armed anti-social elements to terrorise workers into submission.

In a statement, party state secretary Inderjit Singh said the management was squarely responsible for the recent trouble in Manesar and surrounding industrial units.

He also criticised the statement of Haryana labour minister blaming the Maruti workers for the dispute and described it as totally shielding the intransigent management.

"It was the anti-labourer attitude of Haryana government which emboldens the company taking recourse to hired goons who resorted to firing and beating of workers on Saturday at Kherki Daula village on workers belonging to Suzuki Scooters," Singh said.
