Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, on the second day of Kutch visit on Sunday, gave a scene most sought after by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) in the white Rann near Dhordo village for the corporation's ad campaign to promote tourism in Kutch.
Bachchan was shot driving a chakkda in the Rann for the promotion of art and handicraft of Kutch. The media was not allowed to visit the area and tourists' visit to the white Rann was closed for the day. The place is otherwise booming with tourists all the time thanks to Bachchan's first ad.
According to sources, Bachchan also moved with a herd of camels for another scene. The shooting site is some six km away from Dhordo, a village near which a tent city was raised for this year's Rannotsav. After completion of his Rann shooting, Bachchan was to visit Dhamanka, an all-artisan Muslim village famous for its Ajarkah printing work. The shots were to be taken here for promotion of textile and handicraft of the village. But this was cancelled at the last minute and selected artisans were taken to Dhordo, some 80 km away.
At Dhordo, the Big B shot for the promotion of the handicraft and also for completion of Rannotsav. He then moved to Kukma guest house before proceeding to Rajkot on Tuesday.
