Maoists have released nine of the 11 villagers, whom they had kidnapped from Bihar's Kaimur district, officials said here today.

On July 10, a group of about 60 armed Maoists had kidnapped the 11 villagers from Londa village in the district and also took away their licenced weapons.

The ultras released three of the hostages in the morning yesterday and another six in the evening, the officials said.

The Special Task Force of the police assisted by CRPF are combing areas adjacent to the village in search of the missing duo, they said.
