Two persons were killed by Maoists on the suspicion of being police informers in separate incidents in West Midnapore district, police said.
Soyen Pal, a former CPI(M) member, was dragged out by a group of 10-12 men from his house at Neguria village under Belpahari police station last night, the police said.
Pal's bullet-riddled body was found lying on the village road today, the police said.
The police said that Pal had been receiving threats from the Maoists for quite some time.
A camp of the Special Operation Group, which is carrying out anti-Maoist operations, is stationed at the village.
In a similar incident, CPI(M) member Sitaram Mandi was forcibly taken out of his house at Bandhgora village under Salboni police station last night.
His bullet-riddled body was recovered today.
