Prime minister Manmohan Singh today conferred with his senior colleagues on how to handle the possible fallout of the Allahabad high court judgement next month in the original title suit of Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Mosque dispute.

Singh discussed the issue with finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, home minister P Chidambaram and defence minister AK Antony, sources said.

The Uttar Pradesh government has already sought from the Centre additional security forces to tackle possible law and order situation that may arise after the verdict.

The state government has chalked out a security plan and sought an additional 4,500 paramilitary personnel from the Centre.

"As per the special plan chalked out in this regard, eight ADGs and five IGs have been given additional 16 ranges in the state, besides a DG has been nominated as special observer," state government officials said earlier.

The DGP has asked these officers to report to their respective ranges in the first week of September, they said.

The district level officers have also been asked to identify sensitive and hyper-sensitive areas in their respective region, they said. Leaves of policemen have also been cancelled.
