Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar today favoured an "impartial" probe into the 2G spectrum allocation issue and said the prime minister would take a correct decision in this regard as he is aware of "all the facts".

"I am neither ready to say that nothing has happened, nor that something happened....I think prime minister is aware of all the facts and being an honest person he will arrive at a correct decision," he told reporters on the sidelines of Skoch summit here.

"First there should be an impartial probe and the necessary steps could be taken on the basis of the findings," the MP said.

Aiyar, however, added that "you can't disagree with one truth that TRAI recommendation was in writing and the minister (Raja) had accepted that very recommendation. The fundamental mistake is that why TRAI made such reccomendation...."

The Congress leader reacted sharply to AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa's statement over the issue, saying, "Jayalalithaa is very clean woman. Her shoes are of Imelda Marcos and we all know how she had arranged marriage of her adopted son. I am
not ready to listen these people."

Reacting to her proposal of "unconditional" support of 18 MPs of her party to the Congress in case the DMK quits, Aiyar said the AIADMK is "greedy of power".

"Let them say," he added.

Speaking on the alleged housing society scam in Maharashtra, Aiyar said political parties should wait for "some time" for a probe into the case, underlining that defence ministry has recommended a CBI investigation into the matter.

He criticised the popposition for "stalling" Parliament proceedings.

"To get political benefit, you stall the proceedings in Parliament by creating pandemonium every day. Who is being benefited by this except those politicians who give statements before your (media) cameras," he charged.
