The murder was discovered when the office was opened by an employee in the morning.  The killers had fled the spot after locking the office from outside. The police has initiated a hunt for the culprits.

Hemant Dilkhush, 40, resident of Kunvarsingh Sheri in Begumpura, worked as a manager in the office of Patel Land Corporation in Lalgate. On Tuesday night, Dilkhush had dinner and then informed his family that he had to return to the office as there was important work that was pending.

However, he did not return home. Tense family members tried to contact him on cellphone, but to no avail. They went to his office, but found it locked.

They went to another office of the company at Adajan, but that too was locked. Unable to trace him, family members lodged a missing persons complaint at Mahidharpura police station late on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday morning, when the office boy opened the office he was shocked to see Dilkhush lying on the floor. He immediately informed his officials, who in turn informed the police. Athwa police rushed to the spot and found that the victim's throat had been slit by a sharp weapon which had resulted in his death.

Police suspect the involvement of some known person in the incident. “Primary evidence reveals that the victim knew his killers. We are checking every minute detail in the case and the culprits will be arrested soon,” AR Bagle, inspector of Athwa police station, said.
