Modi's 'Sadbhavana Mission' hasn't seem to have gone well with activist and danseuse Mallika Sarabhai, who thinks that Chief Minister Narendra Modi's mission is a farce.

According to Sarabhai, people fake it when they say that they are observing 'upvas' and not 'anshan' as the latter is what they should be going for.

CM Modi's 'Sadbhavana Mission' will commence from September 17 which happens to be his birthday.

“Narendra Modi will spend Rs6 crore on his three-day-long circus at the convention centre in the city. One needs to note that if he is sitting for anshan, he must want to fight for the public and their interest. “However, Modi will sit for upvas which is a personal salutation to the Gods and the Goddesses…it is a personal matter,” said Sarabhai during a media meet at Natarani.

She said that for personal reasons or beliefs one should not gather crowds or people for support. Thus, in her bid to show 'sambhavna', Sarabhai will instead feed the malnourished and anaemic of the slums in the city.

“I have organised food for some 200 meals, two times a day for three days. We will start our programme on September 17 from Gurjari Bazaar at 11 am and give lunch at 12 pm. Food will include multigrain roti and dal. For the evening there will be kadhi and multigrain khichdi. The meal is nutritious. Its expenditure will amount to some Rs30,000 which I will pay,” Sarabhai said.
Sarabhai said the poor and destitute do not have any food or money which is why they remain hungry.
