The Maldives is impressed by the various measures for reforms undertaken at the Tihar Jail here and plans to replicate the same in its prisons.

"Maldivian home minister Mohamed Shihab and Ahmed Faseeh, commissioner of police were in Tihar prisons a couple of days
back," Tihar spokesperson and law officer Sunil Gupta said.

He said, "They visited us because they had heard a lot about the reformation work being carried out in our prison. They took the rounds of the prison so that they could pick and choose what all could be replicated in their jails."

The delegation went around the prison premises and were surprised that yoga and meditation facilities existed for prisoners, Gupta said.

The Maldivian home minister and commissioner of police also acquainted themselves with the reform activities that were being conducted in the prison premises.
