Madhya Pradesh's power generation to increase to 1103 MW this financial year

The plan has been chalked out to this effect adding that unit-1 and unit-2 of Seepat thermal power plant will be commissioned in the first phase in April 2011 and October 2011 respectively.

The power generation capacity in Madhya Pradesh will be increased by 1103 megawatt (MW) during the current financial year.
         
An official release said here today that a plan has been chalked out to this effect adding that the unit-1 and unit-2 of Seepat thermal power plant will be commissioned in the first phase in April 2011 and October 2011 respectively.
         
These units will generate 1200 MW power (600 MW power from each unit). From these units, Madhya Pradesh will get 188 MW power (94 MW from each unit).
         
The fifth phase of Vindhyachal thermal power plant will commence from March 2012, which will generate 500 MW power. Out of this, the state will receive 200 MW power.
     
Similarly, the power generation at seventh and eighth units of Chandrapur plant under Damodar Valley Corporation will be started in April 2011 and October 2011 respectively.
       
Both the units will generate 500 MW power, out of which Madhya Pradesh will get 200 MW. The unit-1 of Essar Power MP Limited’s Sidhi plant will be commissioned in January 2012. The unit will generate 600 MW power, out of which 196 MW power will be provided to Madhya Pradesh.
    
Besides, the first and second units of Maheshwar hydel project will be critical from April 2011, third and fourth units in July 2011, fifth and sixth units in October 2011 and seventh and eighth units will commence power generation from January 2012. These units will generate 400 MW power, out of which Madhya Pradesh's share will be 320 MW.
