Twenty-four-year-old Mohammad Ali, a flight steward who died in the Mangalore plane crash last week, was today laid to rest at the Bada Bagh graveyard here.
The last rites were performed after the Friday 'Namaz', which was attended by people from several walks of life including the Shehar Kazi.
The mortal remains of Mohammed reached here this morning
after a long agonising wait by his family members.
The flight steward's father Iktedar Ali had rushed to Mangalore last Saturday when the ill-fated Boeing aircraft crashed in Mangalore killing 158 people including his son.
He however returned to Bhopal in three days to console the grieving family members as his son's body, which was charred beyond recognition, had not been identified then.
Forensic experts had collected the DNA samples of Ali to establish the identity of his son.
Ali received the DNA report later through a fax following which arrangements were made to bring Mohammed's body back to
his home town for burial.
