State Congress spokesman, KK Mishra in a statement claimed that according to his information the state government was planning to set Pawar free from the case and termed it as a "deep conspiracy".

Pawar was arrested and sent to jail last year for allegedly misbehaving with Sanjana Jain as she accepted the nomination of a Congress candidate even after stipulated time to accept nomination forms.

The police has also filed a charge-sheet in the local court on the issue. Government was planning to take back the matter allegedly in public interest which is a deep conspiracy, Mishra said.

While the Election Commission of India praised the lady officer for doing her duties in a bold manner, the state government is planning to take back the case against the minister for misbehaving with her, he added.
