Lost luggage at airport is now only a click away

Pragnesh Panchal, an executive in a well-known corporate house in the city, lost his mobile phone at the Ahmedabad airport a couple of weeks back. The very next day, he logged on to the Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) website, and to his surprise he saw information about his lost phone displayed on the same.

He called up at the number on the website, talked to the airport manager and after verification got his phone back. You can be as lucky.

It's only a month that the CISF has started the lost and found baggage section on its website, but already scores of passengers are heaving a sigh of relief as tracking lost stuff at any airport in the country has become a lot easier now.

The website www.cisf.gov.in now offers complete details of lost and found baggage at airports. Interestingly, in the span of one month, nearly 80 articles, including mobile phones, laptops, jackets, among others, were found at the city airport, informs the website.

On the other hand, according to details of the last five months, passengers travelling by air lost around 321 different articles at the city airport. But surprisingly, of these, 271 articles have already been claimed by people.

Earlier, in such cases, passengers had to go through a slew of procedures to know the whereabouts of their stuff. However, now, the website covers every bit of information, allowing passengers to trace their missing articles through the website. They can approach senior terminal manager for further enquiry, and after verification can claim their lost good.
