Aam aadmi's faith in India's public institutions is waning with every passing minute. The overarching sentiment among the public is of cynicism and withdrawal due to chronic disruptions in the Parliament.
While our political parties continue the blame-game for the loss to the exchequer, what the public wants is maximum return for their valuable vote. However, our politicians are not ready to learn.
An analysis of parliament reports reveals that the 15th Lok Sabha has lost precious 492 hours and 293 minutes in its ten sessions, so far, due to acrimony.
The Lok Sabha will need massive 568 hours to finish legislative business lost to disruptions.
With the UPA and opposition parties (led by BJP) already in a face-off situation, the ongoing Monsoon session too may turn out to be dud.
This is when our policymakers are supposed to work on 31 pending bills: the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, Whistleblower's Protection Bill, Land Acquisition Bill, Lok Pal Bill, Higher Education and Research Bill, Educational Tribunal Bill and the National Accreditation Regulatory Authority for Higher Educational Institutions Bill.
