A student was killed and 25 others were hospitalised with severe burns today when lightning struck a school at Uluberia in Howrah district.
The police said a 16-year-old student died on the spot when lightning hit a madhyamik institute during school hours at Joargari village this noon.
The injured students were rushed to a hospital in Uluberia, sources said.
