Legendary dancer Mrinalini Sarabhai on Friday launched, from Ahmedabad, a free electronic English magazine, 'The Malayali Wings'. The e-magazine carries articles on arts and culture,
literature, and agriculture.
From her home in Ahmedabad, she electronically presented a copy of the magazine to Union minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor.
The inaugural issue is dedicated to Mrinalini herself and carries an article by her and some rare photographs of the danseuse taken during 1940-1980s.The e-magazine has been launched by the Kochi-based Malayali Friends Group (MFG), a constituent of Millennium Charitable Trust. It is the first attempt by a group of Keralites based in Kerala to publish an electronic magazine for readers in the country and abroad.Among those behind themagazine are former ISRO chief G Madhavan Nair, and former athlete PT Usha.
