The ruling LDF in Kerala will launch protests across the state as part of the Left's national campaign against price rise, holding the Centre responsible for the serious situation.

"Thousands of LDF volunteers would picket select central government offices in all the 140 assembly constituencies in the state," CPI(M)-LDF convener Vaikom Viswan told reporters.

The LDF state committee, which met here, asked its district units to chalk out the agitation programmes, he said.

The policies of the UPA government were responsible for the situation. Even in allotment of foodgrain from the central pool, the state's requirements were not taken into account, resulting in soaring prices in the open market, he charged.
