Union minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Vayalar Ravi, today charged that the CPI(m)-led LDF government in Kerala was a 'total failure' on all fronts.

'There was rampant corruption, law and order situation was in shambles', Ravi told a meet-the-press programme here. The recent attack on forest officials and freeing of accused in a sandalwood smuggling case in Marayoor in idukki shows that the law and order situation was in bad shape, he said.

On the lottery issue, he said there were problems with regard to operation of lotteries in kerala and west bengal both ruled by left governments. Why is the cpi(M) central committee not probing it?, he asked.

Asked about the issue relating to former congress spokesperson Abhishekh Singvi appearing for Megha distributors in the lottery case in kerala high court, Ravi said corrective action has been taken by the congress high command. Singhvi is no longer a congerss spokesperson.

On cpi(M) state secretary, Pinarayi Vijayan, stating that the marxist party had no issues with the church, he said that statement itself was a sought of confession by vijayan. Earlier, the marxist party had attacked the catholic church and given a clean chit to PDP and Jamaiti Islami.

He said the central projects were not being properly implemented in the state and expressed confidence that the UDF would win in this month's civic polls.
