Railway minister Mamata Banerjee said these train services would be introduced on the Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata suburban routes — on the pattern of Mumbai suburban lines.

To assist urban working women who face difficulties in travelling to their workplaces, railway minister Mamata Banerjee today announced the introduction of 'Only Ladies' EMU train services.
Presenting the Railway Budget for 2009-10, she said these train services would be introduced on the Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata suburban routes — on the pattern of Mumbai suburban lines.
She said these services would run for the convenience of women passengers during office hours.
