Labourers attacked in Amravati

On Sunday in the wee hours, some unidentified persons attacked the labourers when they were asleep and dragged out of their huts. Later, they poured diesel on the huts and set them afire.

Labourers of a company were allegedly attacked and their huts set ablaze by unidentified miscreants at Pimpalkhuta village in Morshi tehsil, police said today.

India Bulls company limited is the owner of the proposed thermal power project in the district and has its site near Pimpalkhuta village.

On Sunday in the wee hours, some unidentified persons attacked its labourers when they were asleep and dragged out of their huts.

Later, they poured diesel on the huts and set them afire.

According to a complaint registered by one of the labourers, Rekhchandra Meshram, attackers also took away the mobile phone and other material worth Rs50,000 from the labourers.

Morshi police have registered offences under relevant sections and are investigating further.
