Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh today said that Madhu Koda should face the consequences if the charges of disproportionate assets and money laundering charges against him were proved.

"If the charges are proved, then face the consequence. I was chief minister for ten years, but never faced any corruption charge," Singh told an election meeting.

"We supported the UPA (in Jharkhand) from outside, thinking Koda will give a clean government, but it did not happen," he said.

The Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax department, he said, should investigate the mining leases issued during the Arjun Munda regime.

On increase in Maoist violence in Jharkhand, Singh called upon them to go for talks shunning violence.
