Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, facing charges of embezzlement to the tune of Rs2,000 crores, also has business interest in Goa which would be exposed in due course of time, Goa's former chief minister Manohar Parrikar said.

Parrikar said that the former Jharkhand chief minister could have interest in mining in the state. "Koda used to visit Goa at least once a month. Check out whom he used to meet," Parrikar, who is also a leader of opposition in the state legislative assembly, told reporters.

Parrikar said that the probe by Income Tax and the Enforcement Directorate would reveal more truth and during the course of investigation, the Goa connection would also be uncovered.

Parrikar alleged that the illegal mining in Goa is going on unabated as half of the state cabinet including chief minister Digamber Kamat was involved in mining activity. He said that the mining lobby is highly influential and getting any information about it has become impossible.

The BJP's legislators had raked up the issue in the last assembly session, forcing the state to form a committee to probe into allegations of illegal mining. Goa exports large quantities iron ore to countries like China and Japan.
