Kerala plans high speed rail corridors

The Kerala government has decided to explore the viability of developing high speed rail corridors between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasargode and Kochi and Palakkad.

Talking to reporters after a cabinet meeting today, chief minister VS Achuthanandan said Delhi metro rail corporation would be assigned to conduct the feasibility study on the proposal.

Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC),the state's investment promotion agency, would be the nodal agency for the project.

Details about the funding and partnership pattern would be worked out by KSIDC in consultation with the government,
he said.
