Justice has prevailed, says Anna Hazare on Kalmadi's arrest

“I have full faith in the judiciary of the country and the arrest of Suresh Kalmadi has reinforced my faith in it,” said veteran Gandhian activist, Anna Hazare.

Speaking to DNA on Monday, he pointed out that he had raised his voice against the massive corruption perpetuated by Kalmadi last year.

“I was the first one to file an FIR against the MP for his involvement in graft. Justice has prevailed and I am sure he will face the consequences of his deeds,” he said.

Asked about the timing of the arrest, Hazare refused to link it with the recently concluded nationwide campaign initiated by him to press for the Jan Lokpal bill in New Delhi. “I do not think our campaign had anything to do with the arrest. The law has taken its own course and I am sure the judiciary will deal with Kalmadi in the right manner,” he said.
