Junagadh HIV transfusion case: BJP MLA Mahendra Mashru in trouble?

After BJP MLA and former minister Amit Shah, another BJP MLA, Mahendra Mashru, could face serious charges of culpable homicide in Junagadh HIV transfusion case being investigated by the CBI. The investigating agency has added the section of culpable homicide amounting to murder in the case. Mashru is the chairman of Sarvodaya blood bank which allegedly supplied the infected blood

However, with no specific names in the FIR, the accused include the civil hospital surgeons, hospital staff and trustees as well as administrators of Sarvoday Blood Bank, including Mashru.

Sources said that the CBI will soon start identifying the guilty people.

Based on an order of the Gujarat High Court, the CBI registered a fresh FIR in the case wherein thalassemic kids in a government hospital were infected by HIV after blood transfusion. An FIR was registered by the Anti Corruption Bureau.

Sources also said that the complaint has been registered under various sections of IPC.
