The judicial custody of two Iranian women students, arrested on charge of assaulting a policeman on duty and manhandling a photojournalist in an inebriated state, was today extended till February 23.
When the bail applications of Farima (26) and Azar Fasle (29) came up before the additional chief metropolitan magistrate Rajiv Gowda, he posted them for hearing on February 23.
The judicial custody of the two women ended today.
Farima faces charges of punching traffic sub-inspector Ganesh Rao in the face and biting his hand and Fasle is charged with pushing the photographer and damaging his camera when their car was stopped near Cubbon Park police station during a drive against drunken driving on Thursday night.
The driving licences and passports of the two women, who had been staying in the International Hostel of a private engineering college in the city for the past three years, have been seized.
