Jharkhand Police today questioned the boyfriend of a Delhi-based journalist who was the victim of an alleged "honour killing" to know more about the events which led to the incident.
A three-member team led by an Inspector from Koderma quizzed Priyabhanshu Ranjan at the Special Staff office in south Delhi's Pushp Vihar this evening in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Nirupama Pathak who was working with Business Standard.
His mobile phone was seized by police, sources said.
Pathak's mother Subha, suspected to have had a hand in her death, has already been arrested after post-mortem report confirmed that the scribe had died of asphyxia as a result of smothering.
The Delhi-based journalist, herself a Brahmin, was planning to marry her batchmate at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, who belonged to a lower caste and her family members were against it.
