Jaya plays communal card, says AIADMK govt will always protect Muslims

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalaithaa today assured the Islamic community that the AIADMK government would always be a protector of the people of the community.

"I want to give you the assurance that the AIADMK government would always protect the Islamic community people," she told the gathering at an Ifatar party organised by her party here.

Recalling that when AIADMK orgnaised the Iftar party last year the DMK chief M Karunanidhi had dubbed it as an attempt to garner Muslim votes, she said everyone knew there was not an iota of truth in it.

AIADMK had been organising Iftar party every year since 1999, a party release tonight quoted her as saying.
