Jaswant plans to write a book on Rajagopalachari

Jaswant Singh is now planning to write a book on founder of the Swatantra Party, C
Rajagopalachari. Speaking with DNA, the former BJP leader mentioned that he has already started working on his new book, which would revolve around the life of the last governor-general of India.

Asked if the bitter experience post publication of his recent book Jinnah - India, Partition, Independence has now made him more cautious, Singh categorically maintained that he still believed in the freedom of expression.

“If we start restraining the free flow of thought, it will have a severe bearing on the thought process of entire country. There can be no restrictions and suppression on freedom of thought,” he said.

A scholar and a politician, C Rajagopalachari has been a leader of the Indian National Congress before he founded Swatantra Party.  The first recipient of India’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna, he also served as the premier of the Madras Presidency, besides
holding key portfolios in the government.
