"Several developmental and welfare programmes and projects have been formulated for restoring pristine glory and beautification of Srinagar district which are estimated to cost Rs 40 crore," Sagar said after laying foundation of a community hall here yesterday.

He noted that a large number of artisans and craftsmen are living in downtown Srinagar and that the government is taking steps to improve their lot.

The community hall at the shrine of 'Gousul-Azam' Dastgeer Sahib in Khanyar locality of old city will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 60 lakh, he said.
