J&K revenue official charge-sheeted for accepting bribe

A complaint was lodged by Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh alleging that on account of mutation of his ancestral property, Mohammad Yousuf Dar had demanded Rs3,000 from him.

A revenue official, who was arrested for allegedly accepting bribe, has been chargesheeted by the State Vigilance Organisation in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.

Mohammad Yousuf Dar, a Patwari (village accountant) of Aajas, 70 kms from here, was arrested on March 19 while accepting Rs 3,000 as bribe, a SVO spokesman said.

A complaint was lodged by Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh alleging that on account of mutation of his ancestral property, Dar had demanded Rs3,000 from him.

The chargesheet was filed against Dar yesterday, the spokesman said.
