An inter-state dacoit, involved in several cases including non-bailable warrant (NBW) cases, was arrested at Throvakunta Village in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh today.
The dacoit, Pathan Mahaboob Khan, 32, of Ananthapur, released on bail recently, had taken a house on rent in Guntur town, according to police. 30 non-bailable warrants are pending against Khan in Bangalore and Mysore cities of Karnataka and he is involved in several thefts, police said.
Recently, a dacoity took place in Kandukur town of the district. The town police had taken finger prints of dacoits, who were involved in the dacoity. The town police, suspecting Khan in Kandukur dacoity, launched manhunt for him, police said.
The police, who launched verification of vehicles in Throvakunta village, found Khan's details and took his finger prints and found the same fingerprints of Khan in Kandukur dacoity.
The police, then arrested Khan and recovered Rs25 lakhs property including a flat, 95 sovereigns of gold, one kg silver, two cars and mobile phones from him, police added.
Ongole Town Circle inspector Potharaju registered a case against Khan and investigation is on.
