The Border Security Force (BSF) today foiled an infiltration bid along the Indo-Pak border and shot dead a suspected militant in Jammu district, officials said.
During patrolling along the International Border, BSF troops observed some suspicious movement at Alah-Miya-Di Kotha (AMK) forward post in Chicken Neck sector of Jammu early this morning, BSF deputy inspector general G Oberio said.
Troops challenged the infiltrators, resulting in a gunfight in which one suspected militant was killed, he said, adding a AK rifle, two magazines, 42 rounds and five kgs of heroin worth Rs five crore in the international market were seized.
The search operation is on in the area, he said.
