India has signed an agreement with the USA to set up an International Nuclear Research Institute in Bahadurgarh city of Haryana, Congress MP Deepender Hooda said today.

"The institute will be established on the pattern of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai and it will benefit Indian and foreign scientists in carrying out novel research in the field of nuclear energy," the MP from Rohtak said while addressing a public meeting in Siddipur Lova village here.

Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission Dr S Banerjee and former chairman Dr Anil Kakodkar have visited Jassaur Kheri village in Bahadurgarh to explore the possibility of setting up the institute, he said.

Criticising former RSS chief Sudarshan for making alleged derogatory remarks against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he said the BJP should make its stand clear on the comments.

"BJP's efforts to wash off its hand from this affair reflects its double political character. No one has the right to play with the feelings of the people of this country," the MP said.
