India, Israel discuss cooperation on counter-terrorism

Cooperation between the two countries on counter-terrorism has been growing over the last few years but it got impetus after the Mumbai attacks.

India and Israel today discussed counter-terrorism cooperation and ways to step up collaboration in related fields.
    
The issues were discussed during a meeting between national security adviser M K Narayanan and his Israeli counterpart Uzi Arad here, official sources said.
    
Cooperation between the two countries on counter-terrorism has been growing over the last few years but it got impetus after the Mumbai attacks of November 2008 when Israeli nationals were specifically targeted.
    
The bilateral joint working group on counter-terrorism met here last month and held detailed deliberations on the ways in which cooperation could be enhanced, particularly in the field of intelligence-sharing.
