Incentives announced for hotels, tourism projects in Puducherry

The incentive would be in the form of capital grant of Rs2 lakhs per room subject to a maximum of Rs30 lakhs for a one star category hotel.

With an aim to promote tourism in Puducherry, government has announced incentives to star hotels, heritage category hotels, resorts and other tourism projects.

The incentive would be in the form of capital grant of Rs2 lakhs per room subject to a maximum of Rs30 lakhs for a one star category hotel.

The amount of incentive will be Rs3 lakhs per room subject to a maximum of Rs 75 lakhs for a two star category hotel and Rs3 lakhs would be available as capital grant per room subject to a maximum of Rs1 crore for a three star category hotel project, a government gazette notification said.

The administration would also sanction incentive at Rs3 lakhs per room subject to a maximum sum of Rs75 lakh for heritage hotels if the building was listed in the current list of heritage buildings in the Union Territory, it said.
