Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad: Once again Jain religious leaders have unanimously demanded that the government take some concrete steps to ensure the safety of Jain monks. At the 'Gunanuvad Sabha' (condolence meeting) of late Jambuvijayji Maharaj Saheb at Shankheshwar in Patan district on Wednesday, hundreds of Jain Acharyas, Sadhus and Sadhvis raised this demand.

Local MLA from Sami-Harij, Bhavsinh Rathod, and Rajani Patel from Chansma and RSS leaders were present. "I was present at the accident place. I saw that a truck came silently and hit guru maharaj. I have no doubts that Anoop Mandal is after all Jain Sadhus and Sadhvis. But Jains and Jain monks are not cowards...We can take weapons in our hands if situation demands. Jains had taken swords in their hands in the past," said Himvantvijay Maharaj Saheb, disciple of late Jambuvijayji Maharaj Saheb.

Tapagachchhadhipati Acharya Premsuriswarji Maharaj Saheb, who is the topmost religious leader of all Jain sub-sects, said: "Jambuvijayji Maharaj Saheb was an international saint, so it seems that it is an international conspiracy behind his death."

However, Rajkot-based veteran RSS leader Pravin Maniar who was present at the condolence meeting, said: "The world has lost a great man. Not only Jain sadhus but the saints of all religions are on the target of killers.

However, without any evidence, we can't put allegations on anybody. The Jain community should hire some private detectives and find out the real culprits behind these accidents. If chief minister Narendra Modi focuses on this issue, he would definitely take it to the logical end."
