Illegally stored food grains worth Rs4 crore seized from Nagar

Food grains worth Rs4 crore allegedly stored illegally in a warehouse of a cold storage firm here have been seized. "Acting on a tip off, a squad raided a private warehouse of a cold storage firm at Shendi, 11 kms from here yesterday and seized food grains worth Rs4 crore," district supply officer, Gulabrao Kharat told PTI.

The seized stock comprises 50 tonnes of wheat, 82 tonnes of groundnuts and 1,612 tonnes of other food grains, he said. According to Kharat, the firm director would be served a notice under Essential Commodities Act.
