In a repeat of what happened last year, the campus placement for students of Post Graduate Programme for Executives (PGPX) at IIMA is likely to continue even after the convocation.
It should be noted that last year the placements went on for around two months after the convocations were held. This year, the rolling placement, which began by the end of December 2009, is likely to continue even after the institutes' convocation is held on March 27. However, this year, despite the placement process being spread over a long period of time, the overall result has been satisfactory and a majority of the students have been placed by now.
Students have received offers for top managerial positions including roles of senior vice-president. Chairperson of placement committee at IIMA, Saral Mukherjee, said "Majority of the students of the batch have been placed by now." Talking about the few students who are yet to be placed, Mukherjee said that these students are waiting for offers that meet their particular choice and preference. " We are in no hurry to complete the process earlier than last year. But, we are more concerned about students getting their specific choices and needs," said Mukherjee.
